Parrott is best known for his work at Robert Yates Racing as Dale Jarrett’s crew chief on the No. 88 Ford and has won 29 races together along with the 1999 NASCAR Winston Cup Series championship and has worked with high-profile racers like Ernie Irvan, Elliott Sadler, and David Gilliland. 

Todd has the record of the second most-winning active crew chief in the Cup Series as of May 2020 which is tied with Paul Wolfe. They both have 31 wins and are behind Chad Knaus who has a total win of 81.

Todd is currently crew chief for their No. 78 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in the NASCAR Cup Series and works for  B. J. McLeod Motorsports.

Todd Parrott Career (Yates Racing)

Todd Parrott started his career in 1995 as the crew chief of Ernie Irvan at Yates Racing on the new #88 Ford. He then became the crew chief for Dale Jarrett in the following year and the duo won the 1999 Cup Series championship. 

Then, Todd went on to work with several Yates drivers such as  Elliott Sadler and Travis Kvapil in the early 2000s. Todd left Yates Racing to join Petty Enterprises in 2006 but then again returned back to Yates in the same year to work with rookie David Gilliland. Hw worked at the Yates until 2009 and was included in  Hall of Fame Racing, a satellite team to Yates Racing.

Parrott’s Career (After Yates Racing)

Todd worked at the speedway program in the Research and Development department of Roush Fenway Racing in 2011and became crew chief of  Matt Kenseth but was released midway through the season. He then was indefinitely suspended due to failing to meet NASCAR’s substance abuse policy on  October 17, 2013. He was later released on October 21 by  Richard Petty Motorsports.

Career (2014-present)

From 2014 to 2017, Todd worked as the crew chief for Tommy Baldwin Racing, Richard Childress Racing, Circle Sport, and Leavine Family Racing. 

In 2018, he moved to Premium Motorsports to crew chief their No. 55 car and worked with Ross Chastain, J. J. Yeley, Jeffrey Earnhardt, D. J. Kennington, and Jesse Little. Parrott had temporarily taken a break from being crew chief in 2019 but returned in 2020 as the crew chief for B. J. McLeod Motorsports.
