He and his first wife, Mildred “Millie” Williams gave birth to David in 1955. They got divorced in 1959.

Hugh launched the first issue of playboy in 1953 that featured a nude calendar shoot of Marilyn Monroe the famous actress in the 50s. The magazine started growing more and more after which he got rich and his business went booming.

He was recognized as well as criticized by many for his work but he still kept going on.

He was married twice after his divorce from Millie; to Kimberly Conrad and Crystal Harris.

After he died, he left these assets and company to his 4 children and his then-current wife Crystal Harris.

Divorce of David’s Parents

Hugh and Millie loved each other so much that Millie confessed to Hugh out of guilt and love that she had an affair when he was in the military.

Due to this guilt, Millie allowed Hugh to have relationships with other women in the course of their marriage.

They were together for 10 years after which they got divorced in 1959, just after 4 years of David’s birth.

After getting a divorce from Hugh, Millie married another man named Edwin Gun. Due to some reason this marriage didn’t last long. They got divorced too. Soon after the divorce, they changed their surname again from Gunn to Hefner.

David has three siblings, out of which one is his biological sister, Christine Hefner and the other two are his half-siblings, Marston Hefner and Cooper Hefner who were born to Hugh and Kimberley Conrad.

Christine started working at Playboy in 1975 where she became the CEO in 1988. Marston wasn’t much in the limelight but he was sentenced to one year of jail for domestic violence on the suspicion of attacking his girlfriend.

Cooper is the youngest sibling of all and is currently the Creative officer of Playboy enterprises and is also the founder as well as former CEO of Hop, the media company.

David however did not choose the path his father created for him. He didn’t want to be in the limelight of his father.

As a computer analyst, he works independently. He owns a consulting company in Northern California. He also had a hefty net worth of $110 million after his father died.
