Tome was born in Pittsburg but was adopted by his adoptive parents soon after. He has not disclosed the identities of either his biological parents or adoptive parents.

He has not spoken much about his family background, but he has shared how he connected with the god.

Tome shared that he was the typical high school football player who played the game all day and then party through the night.

He continued this lifestyle until he had to go to a camp to play football. He was around fifteen-sixteen when he went camping. It was during this camping he felt connected with Jesus.

He first met her during his first Sunday service in the North Park Church, and they fell for each other.

The couple got married on 14th May of 1988 and has a blissful marriage to this day.

They have two daughters and a son together, and all of them are married. They even have grandchildren now, whom they adore more than their kids.

Education and High School

The senior pastor is not only skillful with his words, but he is also a qualified man. He did his schooling at Franklin Regional High school, located in Murrysville, Pennsylvania.

Once high school was over, he enrolled in Robert Morris University to get his degree in Communication Management.

After he graduated, he joined the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary to get a Masters of Divinity degree.

His Pastor Life

Tome started his career as a student minister at the North Park Church located in his hometown. He worked there for some time and got promoted to the evangelical presbyterian church.

He was doing a decent job there but left it in 1995 after knowing about an opening in the Crossroads Church.

He was going through a magazine when he saw an ad for the founding pastor in the Crossroads Church. He went for the interview and impressed the eleven founding members, who assured him to pay him for his first year from their own pockets.

He took the job and soon moved to Cincinnati with his family. He held the first service in March 1996.

Since the first service, Tome extended the church to twelve physical sites in two cities.

Along with holding services, Tome also started adding initiative services to the church. He established the CityLink Center, which is an all-in-one shop for all kinds of services related to the church.

He also started Man Camp and UNDIVIDED. While Man Camp is a weekend camping for young men, UNDIVIDED is a six-week program focused on racial reconciliation.

He even established a center that helps people suffering from AIDS in South Africa.
